The Eastern Union

Formally the European Union and neighbouring states. Ironically the mass unification and homogenisation of Europe was lead by the UK...
The Nordic States declined to partake.

The Western Republic

The road to recovery after 50 years or so of rule by fascistic semi-dictators is a long and complicated one. But the Western Republic is managing it.
(Former USA and parts of Mexico)

North Eastern Economic Bloc

As the USA fell to ruin it's former enemies in the east consolidated as much power as they could. The NEEB is made up of former Soviet states, Russia, China and a handful of other nations absorbed along the way.

North Western Dominion

Oh! Canada!
(Canada, Alaska, some Northern US states)

The Sunrise Empire

The Asian peninsula and islands, terrified at the growing power from their neighbours in the north, consolidated into The Sunrise Empire.
Australia joined them for the ride.

The Nordic Co-operative

The Nordic nations as well as their holdings decided to unify into a single bloc to balance the unification of the European States.

Cities

New Bright City, Eastern Union

Riversides, Eastern Union (Leon)

Riversides (based on towns and cities around the River Humber; Hull, Grimsby, Cleethorpes, and Barton-upon-Humber)
A city that encompasses the River Humber. With increased shipping routes based into this natural bay, and a few smart investments from local officials, the once struggling region of stagnating cities exploded in growth.
With rapid expansion, previously competing towns merged into major districts of the newly formed city of "Riversides" , connected across north and south of the river via numerous suspension bridges, including the historic Humber Bridge known for its rather unfortunately swift lifespan as a global tourist attraction into a historic landmark of pre-cyber era engineering.
Despite being a small town on the edge of Riversides, Barton-upon-Humber became a tourism hub for Riversides. The town is famed for a surprising about of celebrities in history, and is intimately connected with the Humber Bridge. With that historic nature in mind, its appearance has been carefully preserved to mimic its Early Millennium Era to call back to its historic fame. In part, it is a 'living museum' of 2020s era life, a key point in cultural and political history.

Places

Mel's Apartment

Apartment 11/A in a high-rise near the centre of New Bright City. It's not large, but it's comfortable, and the view is rather impressive.
